🔍 What These Dates Mean for You

ECC Customers

In case of running SAP ECC EHP 0–5, you should be aware that support will no longer be available after December 2025, and there also won’t be any extended support. For ECC EHP 6–8 users, mainstream support lasts till the end of 2027, while they will also get extended support until 2030, but the migration planning has to be started now.

S/4HANA On-Premises Users

Every release has its own lifecycle:

  • 2020 version comes to an end in 2025
  • 2021 version finishes in 2026
  • 2022 version is supported till 2027
  • 2023 version enjoys support till 2030

As per SAP’s advice, one should always be on the latest version to get the most out of innovations and to avoid any support gaps.

Analytics & Planning Tools

  • SAP BOBJ 4.3 will receive security support only till 2027.
  • BPC 10.1 (both NetWeaver and Microsoft versions) are at the verge of their lives, so it is better to get on with SAP Analytics Cloud or other modern planning solutions.

Identity & Commerce

Users of SAP IDM and SAP Commerce 2205 are expected to be prepared for customer-specific maintenance and/or can start looking at the successor solutions such as SAP Cloud Identity Services and SAP Commerce Cloud.

🧭 Strategic Recommendations

  • Start Migration Planning Early: Support should not be the reason that pushes you to do your migration planning. Assessments and budgeting should be started already.
  • Evaluate Cloud Options: SAP is advocating cloud-first strategies. Long-term sustainability can be achieved by RISE with SAP or S/4HANA Cloud.
  • Stay Informed: Keep tabs on SAP’s Product Availability Matrix (PAM) and roadmap notifications on a regular basis.
